Managing theses in QSpace

Managing undergraduate theses collections in QSpace

Biology (537):

  1. Each year in April, Prof. Mel Robertson <robertrm@queensu.ca>  submits list of students (names & Queen's email addresses.  Ask Prof. Robertson to have the students register in QSpace
  2. Administrator logs in and selects: Administer -> Groups -> Biology Undergrad Theses
  3. Clicks on Edit button
  4. Highlights the current list of names and clicks on Remove Selected
  5. Click on Select E-people
  6. Retrieve and Add each name from the current list of students
  7. Click Update Group to complete the process
  8. If a name does not appear in the E-people database, you will have to add a new E-person record by clicking Administer -> E-people -> Add EPerson
  9. Complete and save the E-person record and repeat steps 2-7 above to add the student to the collection authorization group.

Environmental Studies (ENSC 501 & 502)

  1. Each year in April the Undergraduate Chair, currently Brian Cumming <cummingb@queensu.ca>, submits list of students (names & Queen's email addresses.  Ask the professor to have the students register in QSpace
  2. Administrator logs in and selects: Administer -> Communities/Collections -> Environmental Studies ->  Undergraduate Theses
  3. Click on Edit Submitters button.
  4. Follow steps 4-9 above

Geology (Bsc thesis)

  1. Each year in April the Undergraduate Chair, currently Prof. Ron Peterson <peterson@geol.queensu.ca>, submits list of students (names & Queen's email addresses.  Ask the professor to have the students register in QSpace
  2. Administrator logs in and selects: Administer -> Communities/Collections -> Geological Sciences & Geological Engineering ->  Geology Undergraduate Theses
  3. Click on Edit Submitters button.
  4. Follow steps 4-9 above
