Physical Plant Services is scheduling water shutdowns in building across campus to ensure we are in compliance with the water use by-law implemented by the City of Kingston.

The two dates and locations that will impact library spaces are as follows:

  • Sir John A. Macdonald Hall – Tuesday, June 6, 2017
  • Douglas Library, Monday, June 19, 2017

Each shutdown is estimated to begin between 7 and 8 am and extend until 3 or 4 pm. For the duration of the work, the buildings will be without running water. All washrooms will be closed for the duration of the shutdown and a “fire watch” will be put in place at the same time, as this also affects the sprinkler systems. We recommend that those using these library spaces visit nearby buildings to access drinking water and washroom facilities while this necessary work is taking place.
