The Department of History Seminar Series presents Dr. John McNeill, Professor at Walsh School of Foreign Service and President-elect of the American Historical Association for a talk entitled: The Industrial Revolution as Global Environmental HistoryThe Industrial Revolution as Global Environmental History. The Industrial Revolution, among it several other things, was a global ecological disruption expressed in different ways in different places.  This lecture considers the implications of mobilizing ingredients of industry for East African elephants, Andalucian and Alabaman soils, Argentine and Indonesian forests and much else, c. 1780-1920.
