not listed in QCAT. Use an index to find
magazine and journal articles. Articles are important in your
research as they contain the most-up-to-date research in a given
field and often focus on a particular aspect of a topic. There
are different types of articles: scholarly, popular or trade.

Consult specialized encyclopedias or
dictionaries to get a broad overview of a subject, a concise
overview of a concept, school of thought or person. To find

two decades and contains the entire set's table of contents,

the set's index. Entries include key people, places, events,
documents, and significant concepts in American history and range
in length from a single paragraph to several pages. All entries
are written by subject specialist and contain bibliographies of

well-written introduction framing the book's time period and

The Encyclopedia of the Irish in

- Some electronic theses from Bolivia, Brasil, Chile and Peru can be found at Cybertesis.NET, a portal created by the University of Chile (Information Services & Library System) that provides an easily accessible tool to full text electronic theses published in different universities of the world.
For more university/national library catalogues, search for the word University/Universidad and the country (Argentina, Peru, etc.) in Google. Find the link to the library (biblioteca) and search the catalogue for theses (tesis). You may need to click on the advanced search function (búsqueda guíada or búsqueda avanzada) and select tesis as a format or type.
TIP: The Library sometimes can have a copy of a dissertation from another university--either purchased by the Library, or purchased by an individual student or faculty member and later donated to the library collection so always check QCAT.
