QCAT Online Tutorial - Introduction

  • "QCAT" is Queen's University Libraries online catalogue. QCAT may be accessed free from any computer that has an Internet connection. The link to access QCAT can be found on the Bracken Health Sciences Library homepage.
  • QCAT provides access to the records of all books, journals, sound recordings, software and government documents in the Queen's University Libraries. Learning how to create effective search strategies to retrieve information from QCAT is fundamental to finding relevant research for your assignments, labs, presentations and papers.
  • If you want to learn comprehensive QCAT search techniques that allow you to locate resources in an efficient manner, check out the QCAT Online Tutorial. It is highly recommended that you complete the entire tutorial. However, the sequence in which you work through the various sections is flexible since each one was designed as a stand alone unit. Once you are confident with your QCAT skills, take the opportunity to apply them by finding information for your "Heroes and Villains Assignment".
