QCAT Online Tutorial - Navigating the QCAT Online Tutorial

  • The "QCAT Online Tutorial" was designed to be interactive, enabling you to read the information about the topic, follow the directions and then execute the example. In order to provide this functionality and flexibility, split screens were created for most of the QCAT Online Tutorial.
  • To highlight navigational options, directions and noteworthy points, the following icons and conventions were used throughout the tutorial.
    Home Home: Go to the QCAT Online Tutorial homepage.
    Back: Move back one screen.
    Next: Move to the next screen.
    Example: Highlights the section example.
    Citation: Highlights the citation used in the example.
    Directions: Provides the detailed steps to follow.
    Note: Provides an interesting fact about the topic.
    Search Tip: Provides an interesting search tip to remember.
  • While navigating through a section you will have the option to move one screen back or go to the next screen. At the end of each section you are given the option of selecting the QCAT Online Tutorial homepage. Notice the bold text throughout the tutorial. It highlights specific directions and actions to follow.
  • QCAT will time out after a period of inactivity. If this happens while you are working on the tutorial simply click on the "Continue Session" option to return to an active QCAT search screen.
