Frequently Asked Questions - About the Library

Can I put up posters or other promotional materials in the library?

Posters and other promotional display materials are subject to the regulations listed under the Temporary Signs section of the Queen's University Signage Policy. Check with the circulation desk at the campus library where you wish to post your materials.

The Stauffer Library Poster and Handout Policy is available online.

Can I take photographs or film in the library?

Photography and videography are discouraged so as not to disturb library patrons. Please check with library staff before filming or taking photographs in the library. Library staff and patrons may not be filmed or photographed without their consent.

Can you post an announcement for my club or group on the Library's computers, website or display screens?

Requests from campus groups to post information on the Library website or display screens are considered on a case-by-case basis, provided that the information is likely to be of interest to a broad spectrum of library users. As these communication tools are intended for the promotion of library services and resources, requests from outside the Library are granted only in exceptional circumstances.  read more »

What is LibQual+?

LibQual+ is the name of a library service quality survey that records users' perceptions of services and resources. For more information, see LibQual+ at Queen's University Library.

What is QSpace?

QSpace is the Queen's University Research and Learning Repository. It is meant for storing and sharing papers, presentations, theses, technical reports, data sets, or any other digital files produced through research and teaching.

Materials deposited in QSpace are assigned a static url (web address) that will never break. If you wish to share your research and learning materials (optional), QSpace facilitates indexing through major search engines such as Google Scholar.  read more »
