Do I need the Refworks group code?

No, you should not need a group code for RefWorks as long as you connect to RefWorks using the links provided on the Queen's Library website.

If you are using Write-N-Cite from off-campus and are prompted for a group code, follow these instructions for configuring remote access to Write-N-Cite.

How do I connect to my RefWorks account?

  1. Always use the RefWorks link on the Queen's Library website to access your account, from anywhere in the world. (Queen's is a member of the RefWorks @ Scholars Portal consortium.)
  2. Log in with the Login Name and Password you created when you registered with RefWorks @ Scholars Portal.

How do I create a RefWorks account?

  1. Connect to RefWorks via the RefWorks link on the Queen's Library website. (Queen's is a member of the RefWorks @ Scholars Portal consortium.)
  2. Click on New to RefWorks? Sign up for an Individual Account and follow the prompts.
  3. You will receive a confirmation email with your new RefWorks Login Name and Password. Be sure to keep the information in a safe place!

How do I export citations into RefWorks?

When you find articles or other references in your database or catalogue searches which you want to save to RefWorks, you “mark” them and then “save” them into your own Ref Works account.
