General Study Space
Stauffer Library provides close to 1,000 study spaces available on a first-come first-served basis. All study areas have wireless internet access for Queen's students, faculty and staff (see guide).
The study spaces consist of a mixture of:
- tables (for 4 to 6 people per table), located in all sections of the building on all five floors;
- one-person carrels, located on the Lower Level and on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Floors;
- 14 bookable group study rooms, of varying sizes, located on the Lower Level, the Ground Floor and the 2nd Floor (see next section).
Bookable Group Study Rooms
These rooms, with seating for 4 to 8 persons depending on the size of the room, are equipped with a blackboard and "wired" laptop internet jacks (in addition to the wireless access). Queen's students, faculty or staff have an annual allocation of hours which they can use to reserve blocks of study time. All bookings are made using the Library's Group Study Room Online Booking System. The group study rooms are not available for booking by non-Queen's individuals or groups. For more information, consult the Booking Policy for Stauffer Library Group Study Rooms.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors have been designated as "quiet" study space.
