Library Tour

The Circulation desk is located next to the library's main entrance. Visit this desk to check out and return library materials.

The Course Reserve section is located adjacent to the Circulation desk. The Reserve stacks are open, and all library users are encouraged to browse; however, only faculty, staff, students and members of the public who hold a current Queen's library card may borrow Reserve materials.

The Reference Office is located down the hallway from the main entrance, on the left side. Visit the office for assistance with legal research and using the law library - no appointment is necessary. Staff are available to help with any problem or question. Individual tutorials can also be set up on specific electronic or print research tools, such as LexisNexis Quicklaw, Westlaw Canada, journal indexes, etc.

Just past the Reference office, opposite the Law Report and Statute collection, you will find the computer kiosk equipped with public access workstations and a scanner.

A network printer station and photocopier are located in the alcove just beyond the computer kiosk. A second photocopier may be found in the Reserve area.
A library copy card is required for printing and photocopying. Copy cards may be purchased from the self-serve dispenser by the Circulation desk.

Additional public workstations are located at the far end of the hall, adjacent to the group study room. Law students may book this room through the Circulation desk.

Individual study space is available in the carrels located on the upper level of the library, overlooking the quadrangle shared with Dunning and Mackintosh-Corry Halls. The monograph collection is located on this level.

The upper level also houses the Mystery of the Law collection, comprised of hundreds of paperback mysteries and popular movies. Items from the collection may be borrowed by Library cardholders.

Legal journals are located on the library's lower level. Additional study space is also available on this level.

The e-laboratory is located to the right of the Circulation desk, at the north end of the ground floor study area. The workstations in the lab provide access to LexisNexis Quicklaw, Westlaw Canada, and legal CD/ROMs, in addition to standard operating software. A second printer station is also located here. The lab is for law student use only.
