Library Online Request Services Expanded to Include Photocopy and Course Reserve Reading List Requests

Queen's University Library is pleased to announce that the Library's document delivery and course reserve services have expanded this Fall to include new options available, via the Web, to members of the University community:

Additional Photocopying Services:

Joining the similar service provided by the Bracken, Education and Engineering & Science Libraries, both Stauffer Library and the William R. Lederman Law Library can now accept online requests for single photocopies of journal articles and book chapters copied from volumes in their respective print collections. There is a $3.00 fee per article/chapter and costs can be charged to a Queen's Research Account code. In the latter instance, documents also can be delivered to a local fax number.

To place a request:

  1. From the Library Homepage, select:   Document Delivery/ILL   (http://library.queensu.ca/docdel/)
  2. Then select your preferred library from the Photocopy Request Service menu.
Expanded Reserve Services:
Instructors now have the option of submitting course reserve requests electronically to Reserve staff in both the Engineering & Science Library and in Stauffer Library. To use this service:

(Alternatively, follow the "Services" links from the Engineering & Science Library and Stauffer Library homepages.)

Because QCAT provides the option of linking electronic resources to course reserve lists, the new reserve request forms include the option of listing both print and electronic citations. Library Reserve staff encourage instructors to submit references to key readings available online so that these items will be integrated with the print course readings in the QCAT Course Reserve search screen.

Instructors also are reminded to continue forwarding their course syllabus -- either in print form or by email -- to Library Reserve staff. To send the information electronically, address the message to:

Comments and suggestions about these, and all, Library services are always welcome!
