New Journal: RSC Biomaterials Science

The Royal Society of Chemistry today announced a new journal called Biomaterials Science. The journal is a collaboration between RSC and the Institute for Integrated Cell-Materials Sciences, Kyoto University, Japan. The journal will publish articles on topics ranging from "the fundamental science of biomaterials to their biomedical applications". Article submission opens in March and the first advanced articles are expected in August.

Chemical Engineering Education Journal Archive

Back issues of the journal Chemical Engineering Education from 1962-2010 are now freely available from the University of Florida Libraries. Future issues will be added after a one-year rolling embargo period.

New SciFinder Features for 2012

The latest SciFinder update has the following new features and enhancements:
  • Relevance ranking of structure search answer sets
  • Additional mass spectra and NMR data for ~75,000 substances
  • New streamlined display formats for references and substances
  • New bioactivity and target indicators in substance detail displays and substance analyze options
  • Enhanced reference displays and table of contents graphics from ACS Publications

Royal Society of Chemistry offers Mobile App

The RSC Mobile app is now available for the iPad, iPhone and iPod for free. RSC Mobile allows researchers to search and access RSC journal content from the RSC Publishing Platform. An Android version will be released in early 2012.

New: CRC Handbook, 92nd ed., 2011-2012

The 92nd edition of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics is now available. The new edition includes the following new tables and revised tables.  read more »

SciFinder "My Connections" Discontinued

The SciFinder My Connections beta feature will be discontinued on August 20, 2011. SciFinder users will be able to continue to add tags and comments to references but they will not be able to share this information with other users. Instructions for retaining your existing shared tags and comments are provided in the SciFinder How To Guide.

2010 Journal Impact Factors

The 2010 edition of Journal Citation Reports is now available. JCR contains impact factor data and other citation metrics for more than 8,000 journals in the sciences and 2,600 journals in the social sciences.

New ACS Journals in 2012

The American Chemical Society is launching two new journals in 2012. ACS Macro Letters will be an all-letters-format journal covering areas currently covered in Macromolecules. ACS Synthetic Biology will cover research in synthetic biology including the study of systems.
