InterLibrary Loans (ILL) Email Phishing Scam

Posted: May 16th, 2016

A number of phishing emails that are ostensibly from the Library have been received by Queen’s email account holders.

This email requests a response that users should recognize as a phishing attempt, and may be similar to this example that was reported recently:

“Dear User,

Your access to the Interlibrary Loans (ILL) is expiring soon, and you will be not eligible for Document Delivery Service. To continue to have access to the library services, you must reactivate your account. For this purpose, click the web address below or copy and paste it into your web browser. A successful login will activate your account and you will be redirected to the ILL homepage.

If you are unable to log in, please contact the IT Support Centre for immediate assistance.

Kind Regards,
