Keeping Current Using RSS Feeds: Expanding Horizons Workshop

Posted: January 19th, 2010

Current awareness services are tools that allow you to easily keep up to date with the professional literature in your field of interest or study. In these short, snappy sessions you will learn the pros and cons of browser-based RSS feed readers vs. web-based feed readers . You will create Table of Contents alerts using TicTOCs, and Search Result alerts using select citation databases. You will also create a Bloglines account and start to populate it with your own feeds (i.e. subscriptions).

Workshops will be held:

  • Wednesday, February 10th, 3:00-3:45pm, Bracken Health Sciences Library e-lab
  • Thursday, February 11th, 10:30-11:15am, Douglas Library e-classroom
