GIS day is an annual event when people all over the world come together to celebrate geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society.

9:30 to noon - Open Panel Presentation and Discussion
9:30-10:10 a.m. – Bringing Data to Life at City of Kingston (Phil Healey, City of Kingston and Elizabeth Griffiths, Utilities Kingston)
10:10 to 10:30 a.m. - UAV Applications for GIS Solutions (Derek Cooper, Kingston Aerials)
10:30 to 10:50 a.m. – GIS for Public Health at KFL&A (Brian Mosley, KFLC Public Health)
10:50 to 11:10 a.m. – Mapping History with KML: Integration of Classics with Digital Earth Modeling for Education and Tourism (Shawn Rivoire, Queen’s University)

We hope we will see you at the Geography and Planning GIS lab (E223) and main hallway in Mackintosh-Corry Hall to learn about the many applications of well as the future of GIS, as demonstrated by Queen’s students, and Kingston businesses and employees.
