Queen’s University students, faculty and staff can borrow books from other Canadian university libraries when visiting or living in another Canadian city. This is possible since the Queen’s University Library participates in the “Canadian University Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement”. If you would like more information about this option consult the following web pages and/or speak with Access Services staff or Reference Desk staff.

The 10th annual Food for Fines campaign has just wrapped up and here are the results:
Queen’s University students, faculty, staff and library patrons donated 12 full barrels of food and an additional $900.00 in cash.
Both the food items and the cash have been divided between the Queen’s AMS Food Bank and the Kingston area Partners in Mission Food Bank.
The Queen’s community’s support for our annual event has been outstanding. Thank you, everyone!

Join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of Queen’s Library’s annual Food for Fines Campaign! Since its beginning, the campaign has raised several thousands of dollars in cash donations, as well as many many barrels of food items, for the Queen’s AMS Food Bank and the Kingston Area Partners in Mission Food Bank.
How does it work? Donors can choose to apply their donated items against their library fines, by receiving $1.00 of fine reduction for each food item donated to a maximum reduction of $20.00. Alternatively, if delivering food items is not feasible, donors may make a cash donation to a maximum of $20.00. In addition, food or cash donations not applied to fines records are always welcome.
New this year, to mark the 10th anniversary, is the increase in the donation limit to 20 items or $20.00.
What are the dates again? The 2007 campaign will be launched on Monday, March 5th at 9:00 a.m. and will continue through to Friday, March 9th. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the circulation desks in Bracken, Engineering and Science, Education, Law, and Stauffer Libraries.
What food items are recommended donations? Consult our Food for Fines Campaign brochure for lists of suggested and non-acceptable items.
