The 1971, 1976, and 1981 Censuses have been added to the Nesstar server.
The 1986 Census has been updated to include documentation on each variable.

November 15 is GIS Day 2006 at Queens!

You are invited to GIS Day 2006, an event sponsored by the Library’s Map, Data and Government Information Collection (MADGIC) and by the Geography Dept. Come discover how Geographic Information System (GIS) technology can work for you.        

Visit the map gallery and poster sessions. Listen to presentations on a wide range of topics : an entertaining “What is GIS” session; work-related asthma; urban storm water modelling ; remote sensing of forest cover; data accuracy issues; property assessment techniques. Talk with the presenters, enjoy some refreshments, and enter to win door prizes.
