There will be an outage on the Scholars Portal Search server on Saturday morning, 20 September 2008 from 8 am to 9 am, to enable necessary server maintenance.
There will be a 30-minute interruption in off-campus access to “Queen’s-only” databases, e-journals, e-books and other electronic resources on Thursday, 18 September 2008 between 7-7:30 am to enable work on the Queen’s Proxy Server.
Access to RACER will not be available from 5 pm on Friday, 22 August 2008 to 9 am on Monday, 25 August 2008, to enable a major system software upgrade. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
The Queen’s Proxy Service will be unavailable on Tuesday, 5 August 2008 between 8 and 8:30 am, to enable hardware repairs to the server. As a result, there will be no access during this time to the following Library electronic resources:
Due to an extensive power shut-down planned for the University’s main computing centre on Saturday, 26 July 2008 (to repair key power supplies in the building), the QCAT Library Catalogue & the ‘Connect from Off-Campus’ service will not be available that day between 5 am and 4 pm.

Wiley InterScience, the new owners of Blackwell Synergy e-journals, are still in the process of merging all Blackwell content into the Wiley InterScience interface. As a result, as of 2 July 2008 Queen’s still does not have access to the full-text of articles in e-journal titles which are listed in QCAT, on the Library website and on the Get It! menu as being “at Blackwell Synergy”. The publisher expects to restore access soon.
E-journal titles listed in QCAT etc. as being “at Wiley InterScience” are now available once again.
Wiley InterScience, which recently purchased Backwell Publishing, will be merging all Blackwell Synergy e-journals into the Wiley InterScience site. In order to complete this merger, all e-journals housed at both Blackwell Synergy and Wiley InterScience will be completely unavailable from June 27 to June 30 inclusive.
The Library Catalogue (QCAT) will be inaccessible on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at approximately 8 am, to enable routine maintenance. The server should be back up again by 8:30 am.
To enable a small but critical hardware repair, the Library web server will be taken offline on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 8:30 am. The server should be back up again by 9 am. Affected services: Queen’s Library website at library.queensu.ca.
