Clinics of North America available online

Bracken Library has subscribed to 50 different Clinics titles, each one covering a distinct area of surgery, medicine and nursing. Titles include: Anesthesiology clinics, Clinics in perinatology, Hand clinics, Neurologic clinics, Nursing clinics of North America, Physical medicine and rehabilitation clinics of North America, and Sleep medicine clinics. Hosted on the ScienceDirect platform, these titles are accessible from both QCAT and the E-Journals list.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN)

With this new Library subscription to all sections of the Social Science Research Network, Queen’s researchers now have access to a source of early dissemination of research results in the social sciences as well as the humanities.  The collection provides abstracts as well as full-text (where available) of articles and working papers.

Periodicals Archive Online

Periodicals Archive Online main screenPeriodicals Archive Online (PAO) is a collection of backfiles of approximately 500 scholarly journals in the humanities and social sciences published between 1802 and 1995.  The collection scope is international and includes more than 60 foreign-language titles with approximately 20% of the database containing non-English language content.  Read more information.

This database is complementary to, rather than overlapping with, JSTOR – another large collection of backfiles of scholarly journals, to which Queen’s Library also subscribes.

Access to PAO has been acquired as part of the 2008 Digital Content Infrastructure for the Human and Social Sciences (DCI) Project, led by the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN).

British Periodicals – Collection I and II

A new collection from Chadwyck Healey, British Periodicals provides access to facsimile page images and searchable full-text for nearly 500 British periodicals published from the 1680 through to the 1930s.  Records for the individual titles in the collection will be added to QCAT in the next couple of months.

Queen’s Library now subscribes to the following full-text collections of Chinese-language academic journals from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure:

The coverage for each series is from 1994 to present.  Records for each of the journal titles will be added to the library catalogue over the coming months.
