From Sunday, 2 December 2007, through Wednesday, December 19, the Stauffer Library
building is open 24 hours. AMS Walkhome will be open until 6am every day during this period.
On December 2, 3, and 4, Walkhome staff will be available in the Stauffer Library loggia (lobby) from 11pm through 3am. To use the Walkhome service outside these hours, call (613) 533-WALK (9255), email walkhome@ams.queensu.ca, or drop by the Walkhome office in JDUC 040.
NOTE: Hours of Library staff availability at the Circulation/Reserve Desk continue as follows:

Bracken Health Sciences Library extended study hours have begun and will continue until December 19th. The extended hours are:
- Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight);
- Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and
- Saturday & Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Produced by BioMed Central Ltd., the Biology Image Library “is an online collection of images, movies, illustrations and animations across biology and biomedicine, for use in education and research.” Subjects covered are:

On Tuesday afternoon, 20 November 2007, the Medical Library Association is sponsoring a 2-hour webcast called “Scholarly Publishing and Open Access: Straight Talk” (see the webcast agenda for more details).
Queen’s Library has registered for the webcast on behalf of the University community. We invite all interested faculty, staff and students to join us in the Bracken Library e-Classroom at 2 pm (EST) to view the presentation and discuss these issues which are impacting on the dissemination of and access to scholarly literature.

“Housed in Abramsky Hall, the ICES-Queen’s Health Services Research Facility will provide data access to health services research scientists at Queen’s, and encourage collaborations with the larger ICES scientific community. Over the next few years, this initiative is expected to expand to other medical schools in the province.”
