The Library now subscribes to Translated Texts for Historians E-Library.

This book series makes available historical sources from 300–800 AD, translated into English, in many cases for the first time, as a digital resource containing 50 volumes that bring together a wealth of important historical texts with scholarship from leading academics.

Religion Past and Present

The Library now subscribes to Religion Past and Present (RPP), the English version of the 4th edition of Religion in Geschichte und Gegenwart (RGG), the highly respected, authoritative encyclopaedia of Christian theology, biblical studies and religious studies.

Scientists identify planet’s 100 most threatened species

Conservation experts released a list of the world’s 100 most threatened species and warned that only a changed public and government mindset could save them from imminent extinction.

The list compiled by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) in a report titled “Priceless or Worthless?” comprised 100 animals, plants and fungi deemed first in line for extinction.

New NLM Policy: Journal Supplement Indexing

The National Library of Medicine has issued a new policy on journal supplement indexing in the MEDLINE database. It notes:

If a supplement is sponsored by an outside organization, or reports on a conference or other activity that was sponsored by an outside organization, or is devoted to a special topic that is in any way related to a proprietary product, then the articles in the supplement will not be cited and indexed for MEDLINE unless the supplement includes the disclosure information that is described below.
