If we don't have the resources you need, you can often borrow them from other institutions. This service is available for current Queen’s students, faculty, and staff. Please search the QCAT Library Catalogue first to make sure we don't already have the item you need.
RACER allows you to submit requests for material from other institutions. If you have searched at Queen’s and you can’t find what you need, try RACER for your Interlibrary Loan requests.

It is normally free for you to get research material supplied by another Canadian University.
The library subsidizes requests for articles up to $15.00. If charges exceed the subsidy, Interlibrary Loans staff will contact you before the material is ordered to confirm that you still want it and are prepared to pay the difference.
Loan periods and renewals are set by the lending library. On average, they range from three to six weeks. Due dates and any special instructions are noted on the attached book band. Please do not remove this band.
Renewal, Fines and Lost Books
Renewal is generally not possible.
Fines and or suspension of Interlibrary Loan privileges could be applicable if items are not returned by the due date.
Lost books will result in a replacement and processing fee charged to the patrons library account.
