Collection Policy Outline

General Purpose:

To serve graduate teaching and research to the master's level in theological studies.

Languages:

English is preferred, but other western European languages are collected.

Types of Material Collected:

  • books: monographs and sets; bibliographies; biblical commentaries; concordances; hymnals; collections of primary text material
  • serial publications: series; periodicals
  • indexing and abstracting services
    Note: any of the above may be in print, microform, or electronic format

  • New Testament
  • church history
  • systematic theology
  • practical theology

  • Old Testament, particularly Pentateuchal studies, ancient Near Eastern parallels
  • New Testament, particularly Paul's letters, Luke-Acts
  • modern church history, particularly Canadian church history
  • modernn systematic theology, particularly feminist theology, Christology, doctrine of God, theological method
  • Christian and other religious ethics
  • practical theology, particularly worship, preaching, pastoral care and counseling, Christian education, ministry
  • spirituality
  • United Church of Canada

  • Old Testament
  • biblical Hebrew language reference works
  • New Testament: backgrounds, Gospels, general letters, Revelation
  • New Testament Greek language reference works
