Free Monthly Downloads of StafRef! Pier for your Palm PDA
Palm handheld users at Queen's University now have unlimited access to download STAT!Ref's point-of-care PDA application with the American College of Physician's (ACPs) Physician Information and Education Resource (PIER) monthly updates. Instructions for downloading and installing STAT!Ref PDA: PIER are as follows:
- Once you have navigated to the location noted above, double click on STAT!RefPDA-PIER.exe
- Follow instructions to install STAT!Ref PDA:PIER onto your computer.
- You may need to move our largest file, PPDOC.pdb (approx. 19Mb), to your PDA's Memory Card. You can move this file, PPDOC.pdb, using Palm's HotSync® Manager. Make sure you change the destination of the PPDOC.pdb file before you HotSync® to your PDA. All of our other files must reside in your PDA's main memory.
- When the installation is complete, perform a HotSync operation to your PDA.
- To disable the nagging feature which is built into our STAT!Ref PDA: PIER product you must register. To receive your registration code, go to: http://online.statref.com/regcodemanager/default.aspx?un=QUEENS&pw=PDA
- Enter in your Palm OS HotSync Id, your name and your e-mail address and you will receive your registration code. (We will, also, send you an e-mail with your registration code for you to have for your records.) STAT!Ref PDA:PIER must be registered to disable the nagging feature that is built in.
- Our PDA application, STAT!Ref PDA:PIER, will ask for this registration code, enter the registration code and you are ready to go. (Once entered the registration code is good for up to 12 months.)
- STAT!Ref PDA: PIER is updated monthly, so remember to repeat steps 1 - 4 on a monthly basis to keep up with ACP PIER's latest information.
