We are currently subscribed to a number of Springer series: Lecture notes in mathematics (Springer-Verlag); Springer tracts in modern physics, and Topics in current chemistry. Recent volumes for these series are available online. As we subscribe to the series, we are entitled to online access to these.
A record for each series has been created in the OPAC. This record includes the URL for the series. However, each individual volume in the series is catalogued separately. Ideally, the URL for the individual volume should be included in the catalogue record.

Sometimes when the cataloguing copy for the volume is down loaded, the record includes the appropriate URL. If the copy for either of these titles includes such a URL:
If you can construct the appropriate URL based on the ones already present (the main difference is the volume number) and can confirm that the issue is already online, you may also add the URL to the record when you catalogue the item. However, if the issue is not online yet, leave it for the periodic updates.

To date, most of the cataloguing copy for these series has not included information regarding the online version. Ideally, we should be providing access to this information for our patrons. Therefore, periodically, we will check the publisher's site, download the information, and update the corresponding bibliographic records.
Since this is a somewhat convoluted process, it will not be done with the addition of each volume, but on a periodic basis, likely by the continuations cataloguer.
Go to the publisher's site for the appropriate series.
The URL for Lecture notes in mathematics is: http://link.springer-ny.com/link/service/series/0304/index.htm.
The URL for Springer tracts in modern physics is: http://link.springer-ny.com/link/service/series/0426/index.htm.
Click here for Topics in current chemistry.
To the right of the screen, there is a link called Linking options. Click on this link. The bottom option listed here is Issue linking. Click on this link as well.
Doing so will bring you to a new screen, showing the following form:

Leave most of the options as they are, except make sure to change the choice under URL Type to Open URL. Then click on OK.
You will then be asked if you want to open or save the file. If you select "Open", Microsoft Excel will open up the spread sheet. You may then print out the list.
If you select "Save", you will be given a dialog box, allowing you to choose where the file will be saved. Once you have saved the file, open it in Microsoft Excel. You may then print out the list.
It is usually best to have the Excel spreadsheet open when you do the next part, as you can then copy and paste the URL into the cataloguing records.

Once you have accessed the list of URLs, you will need to check the bibliographic records in the catalogue, to see if this information needs to be added. The best way to identify the titles in these series by volume number, is to do a call number search, as both series are classed together.
The call number for Springer tracts in modern physics is: QC1 .S797.
The call number for Lecture notes in mathematics is: QA3 .L28.
The call number for Topics in current chemistry is: QD1 .F58.
