MADGIC Databases
The Maps, Data and Government Information Centre (MADGIC) maintains several databases that provide access to a variety of key government resources, including statistics, Census tables, geospatial files and airphotos. Search these databases to find out what is available at Queen’s.
Geospatial Database
Search for descriptions of GIS data from the Ontario Geospatial Data Exchange (OGDE), DMTI, Statistics Canada, the City of Kingston, and many more places. Elevations, land use, boundaries, remotely sensed imagery, transportation, base maps, earth sciences, health and emergency services, etc.
Air Photo Database
Search by keyword, place name, NTS number, date and scale to locate paper aerial photographs.
Statistical Database
Search for FREE access to Statistics Canada resources that might otherwise cost you money. In addition, this database provides access to over 150 statistical sources covering a vast array of topics, including: health, demography, the environment, economics, and much more.
Census of Canada Statistical Tables
Search this database to access statistical tables from the 1991, 1996, 2001, and 2006 Censuses of Canada. Search by keyword, topic, and/or geographic level. A real time-saver!
1871 Census of Canada - Ontario
Search for your ancestors. This is a database of the actual ‘manuscript’ census records for Ontario in the 1871 Census.
