About the Social Science Data Centre

The Social Science Data Centre provides access to a broad range of survey and other statistical data from a wide range of sources, including Statistics Canada's Data Liberation Initiative (DLI), the Canadian Opinion Research Archive (CORA) and the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). If it has to do with numbers, we can help!

We do one-on-one consultations (by appointment) and in-class sessions. Contact us for more information.

A word to the wise... while at Queen's, you should NOT have to pay for data.

Reference

Reference service is available from 2 - 4 pm, most weekdays. Alternatively, Ask us a question via the web.

Data Centre Workstations

Data Centre workstations are equipped with CD-RW Drives (CD-burners), and provide access to a number of specialized data resources (e.g. PCensus for MapPoint, SPSS, StatTransfer). The computers can be used by anyone, but priority will be given to those requiring data-related resources/tools.

Data Archiving

If you have gathered/purchased survey data, please consider depositing it with the Social Science Data Centre.
