Reserves: How-to Guide for Instructors
How to Place Items on Reserve
Reserve requests should be submitted at least four weeks before the first day of classes so that staff has adequate time to process materials or order books that are not owned by the library.
Reserve requests may submitted online, at the Circulation/Reserve Desk, or via e-mail to engsci.reserve@queensu.ca, or calling 75550.
Please include, for each item on your list: (a) course number (BIOL 103) (b) desired loan period (1hr, 3hrs, 1 day or 3 days) and (c) required term(s) (Fall, Winter, Spring/Summer)
BooksPlease attach the list of titles to the reserve request form. For titles that are not owned by the library, please provide as much information as possible, e.g. author/editor, title, edition, publication date, publisher and ISBN. Note: Students are expected to purchase required textbooks.
It can take several weeks for a book to arrive, so please submit your reserve request well before the start of classes.
Other MaterialsInstructors may place photocopies of non-book materials, e.g. articles, solution sets, notes, etc., on reserve. Unless specified, each article will be placed in its own folder. Updates to notes, solution sets, etc. will be added to the existing binder. When submitting updates please specify the course and provide the appropriate number of copies.
At the end of term, all materials will be removed from reserve and returned to the instructor unless other arrangements have been made.
