The books are drawn from two collections: the Queen’s University Rare Book collection, and date from 1511-1550; and the St. Mary’s Cathedral Library collection, given on permanent loan to Queen’s University Library in 1979 and now for the first time displayed. The St. Mary’s Cathedral Library numbers around 6,000 volumes, and contains not only of a rich variety of Catholic religious, doctrinal, and liturgical texts, but also many secular, historical and scientific titles. Books printed before 1900 are now housed in the W.D. Jordan Library.
