Farley Mowatt Remembered June 16 - August 29
The current display at the W.D. Jordan Special Collections and Music Library begins with a tribute to Farley McGill Mowatt (May 12, 1921 - May 6, 2014) showcasing his publishing history and especially his books of the Canadian north which literally put him on Wolfe's "Literary Map of Canada (1979),seen right. Ever controversial, Mowat's last radio interview was in protest of Parks Canada decision to provide Wi-Fi in our national parks.
In September we will host an exhibit by Queen's librarian Morag Coyne on the theories and works of Vero Wynne-Edwards, a British ethologist and naturalist, who challenged evolutionary biologists to reconsider accepted theories of individual and group selection.
