Borrowing / Renewals

Borrrowing Policies

The circulation policies at the Teacher Resource Centre are designed to enable maximum yet equitable use of, and access to, the Centre’s collections. In general, loan periods are as indicated below. However, restrictions do apply for teacher candidates.

The Teacher Resource Centre restricts use of its material to contract teachers within the Limestone District School Board and the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board.

Teacher candidates (in their final year of study at the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University) may borrow material while they are studying at the Faculty of Education, in Kingston and when they have a practicum at either of the two partners boards, named above. Material may not be taken for extended practicums or beyond the limits of the two partner school boards.

Fines and Overdue Notices

Overdue notices are sent as a courtesy to remind borrowers of a missed due date; failure to receive a notice does not absolve a borrower of the responsibility to return or renew materials promptly. The current tariff for overdue fines, for teacher candidates, is 40 cents per day per item.

All borrowers are responsible for lost and/or damaged material. Replacement fees will be charged.
