Exam De-stressor Activities at the Library

We know this time of year can be stressful time for students as you study hard for your exams. This is why we hope you will take some breaks in support of your mental and physical wellbeing as well as your learning. To help you remember to take some time to relax, we have the following activities planned in the library: 


  • Designated movement space: We partnered with the ARC to temporarily offer students a space for active study breaks on the southwest corner of the fourth floor in Stauffer Library. The space will be available from November 27 - December 21.
  • Lego break: Students can take a break and build with lego in Stauffer Library from December 4 until December 22, and the Education Library from now until December 22. Share your creations with us on Instagram: @queensulibrary
  • Stress relief activities such as a festive book tree that students may decorate using materials on our craft table, and puzzles from December 4 until December 21.

December 5

  • Stress-relief coffee break: Stop by the Douglas Library for a stress-relief coffee break hosted by our Engineering and Science Librarians beginning at 2pm on December 5. 

December 8

  • Healthy snacks and activities In Bracken Library

December 11

  • Snacks in the Law Library 
  • Arm knitting: 2:30 - 4:00 in the Graham George Seminar Room on the 2nd floor of Douglas Library (Please note, this is a travel mug only floor). Make a scarf for yourself or someone else! W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections staff will be on hand to teach you arm knitting. yarn will be provided. Completing a scarf will take about 30 minutes.

December 13

  • Yoga with Professor Martha Bailey: 1:30 - 2:15, in room 211 (beside the Law Library). Breathing and stretches to relieve stress – no mat needed!

  • Button Making: 11:30 - 1:30 in the Law Library 

December 19

  • Snacks in the Law Library
