Intro Session on Research Data Management on January 18

Post Date:
Jan 13, 2023

Researchers at Queen's will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge on research data management (RDM), thanks to an innovative collaboration between the Centre for Advanced Computing (CAC), Information Technology Services (ITS), Queen’s University Library (QUL) and the Vice-Principal Research Portfolio (VPR).

During the early months of 2023 the Queen’s Data Champions (qDC) are hosting a virtual three-part series focused on research data management. The first session on January 18, “Research Data Management and You,” covers what RDM is, why it is important, and potential impacts of RDM for researchers. Participants will also learn about the three pillars of the Tri-Agency RDM Policy, and how the second and third pillars (data management plans, and data deposits respectively) may impact grant applications and/or research projects in 2023. qDC will also introduce the Queen’s University Institutional RDM Strategy and provide information on how researchers can give their feedback on the strategy.

This learning series was successfully launched in the fall of 2022, and QUL is proud to continue enabling and strengthening research at Queen's through novel, collaborative intiatives.
