Library Outdoor Spaces Are Back!

Queen’s University Library (QUL) is excited to announce the reopening of the library’s outdoor spaces, happening between April 8 and 10, 2022.

The terrace at Stauffer Library has again been set up with large umbrellas, as well as tables and chairs and is open for use as of Friday April 8. We encourage everyone to stop by Stauffer and enjoy this fantastic space. Patrons will be treated to beautiful views of University Avenue and Union Street, with plenty of space for sitting, reading, and conversation. The terrace is accessed from the second level of Stauffer Library and will remain open until dusk each day.

In addition, café tables and seating are once again being set up starting Saturday April 9 at Library Square outside the Stauffer main entrance, and outside of Douglas Library. In the event of inclement weather (such as rain), all café tables and chairs will be removed until weather conditions improve. The terrace will also be closed during inclement weather.

QUL hopes members of the Queen’s and Kingston communities will take the opportunity to make use of these spaces and amenities in the coming weeks as the weather grows warmer and the days get longer.
