Census Maps

Printed paper reference maps describe and display Census Geography prior to the advent of Geographic Information System (GIS) data. These often must be consulted to determine neighbourhood level census geographic units such as Blocks, Enumeration Areas, or Tracts. Some are bound in Documents Reference volumes. Many of these earlier maps are individually catalogued in the Library. For example:

  • 1971
    • Block numbers, Rural and urban EAs, CTs, FEDs, CDs, CSDs, CMAs, Streets and street numbering schemes
    • 1971 Census maps
  • 1981
