Share the Space

Share the space: please refrain from leaving personal belongings at study spaces to “reserve” them. This makes resources unavailable to those who need them. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Refraining from leaving personal possessions or valuables unattended also protects you against property loss. The University is not responsible for loss of property.

Food and Drink in the Library

Overview

Food and drink guidelines help users and staff understand their roles in ensuring library spaces are welcoming, while valuable library collections and infrastructure are protected for generations to come. The consumption of food and drink in libraries should be minimized to avoid disturbing others and to protect collections, equipment, and furnishings.

We ask everyone attending the library to:

  • Dispose of garbage and recycling properly

  • Avoid emptying liquids into bins

Paying fines

In order to register for courses, to graduate, or to request transcripts, your library patron record must be clear. For this reason, we strongly urge you to return any overdue materials and/or pay any outstanding library fines or fees before you leave Kingston for term breaks and, especially, for the summer months.
