Cultural Studies

Cultural Studies is an emphatically interdisciplinary area of inquiry that intersects the humanities, science studies, the social sciences and the arts. This page will help you to identify key starting points for your research in Cultural Studies; researchers are encouraged to consult other relevant subject guides as needed. 

The liaison librarian for Cultural Studies is available for research consultations and can help you design research strategies, access key databases, effectively use the information resources at Queen's University Library and beyond, and give you advice on how to stay current in your field. We also evaluate, purchase and make available teaching and research materials, including books, journals, databases and multimedia resources, to support research in Cultural Studies.

MLA International Bibliography

Publication coverage: 1925 - present

Comprehensive index to scholarly writing on literature, language, linguistics, literary criticism, folklore, drama, literary genres, etc.

Social Sciences @ ProQuest

A pre-selected group of 14 citation, abstract and full-text databases covering literature published in the social sciences.

Web of Science

Publication coverage: Science Citation Index: 1900 - present ; Social Sciences Citation Index: 1956 - present ; Arts and Humanities: 1975 - present

A large, multidisciplinary database, Web of Science provides access to bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references from scholarly journals and conference proceedings. A cited reference search enables you to find articles that cite a previously published work.
