Queen’s Librarian Wins Award
Posted: September 5th, 2013Queen’s Librarian Corinne Laverty will be awarded the prestigious Librarianship Award by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the profession.
Those who nominated Dr. Laverty for the award described her as an “intensely dedicated librarian” who is a leader in research, mentorship, teaching and service with a deep and abiding curiosity about how learners search for information. Dr. Laverty, who is a teaching and learning specialist and head of the Education Library and the Teacher Resource Centre, has focused her career at Queen’s on the development of information literacy and research competencies across disciplines.
