Printing PowerPoint Presentations
Following the steps below when printing a PowerPoint presentation will produce the best results.
Printing from a Personal Computer
- Select File from the top menu bar in PowerPoint.
- Go down to Print and click on it.
- In the Print dialog box, make these important changes:
- Select your printer at the top.
- In the bottom left you will see "Print what:", select Handouts.
- Under the "Print what:" option is a "Color/grayscale:" option. Select Pure Black and White.
- Then click the Ok button to print.

Printing from a Sun Ray Station
- Click the
icon on the desktop. - Select File from the top menu bar and then select Open.
- Navigate to /var/opt/SUNWbb/root/home/workstation name/USBKEY and open your PowerPoint presentation.
- Note: Right-click on the desktop and select Set Printer from the drop down list to retrieve your workstation name (eg. utcu31).
- Select File from the top menu bar and then select Print.
- Click the Options button at the bottom left of the print window.
- Under the "Contents" heading deselect Drawing and select Handouts.
- Under the "Quality" heading select Black and white.
- Click the Ok button and print.

These settings will print the presentation with six slides per sheet of paper. Those slides will be black and white with no background. This saves paper, ink, money and time. Large presentation files may take some time to be sent to a printer, while small presentation files transfer quickly.
