Services for Graduate Students

Welcome to your library. We are dedicated to supporting your research and teaching activities. You are welcome to consult and make use of the expertise of our dedicated staff, strong research collections and superb facilities.

Graduate student spaces

In addition to our library spaces across campus, Stauffer Library provides access to two types of space specifically for Queen's graduate students.

Helen Howard Graduate Students Reading Room

Located on Stauffer Library’s third floor overlooking the lower-level study area, this much-loved space has plenty of light and modern, comfortable furnishings. The Reading Room is intended for individual and group study, with both small and large study rooms available. You can also reserve one of the two smaller study rooms in advance. The School of Graduate Studies will let you know how to access this space.

Research and teaching support

Each academic department or research area at Queen’s is supported by a liaison librarian who can provide expert knowledge and guidance on the research literature in your area. Our librarians offer appointments for personalized in-depth consultations. To find the liaison for your area of research, check out our staff directory.

Our librarians also create subject guides and course guides to help you with recommended tools, resources, and research strategies.

Research collections

The library’s research collections include millions of print and digital articles, books, media, archival and special collections, government information, maps and geospatial data, much of which is accessible anytime and anywhere with your Queen’s NetID through Omni, the library's search and discovery tool.

Research lifecycle

The library also provides services supporting the promotion and preservation of your research output.

Graduate theses online

All Queen’s graduate theses are made available online via QSpace, our research repository. Depositing your thesis, dissertation or graduate project to QSpace offers timely, broad exposure of your research to other researchers.

Research data management

We provide research data management services to help with the collection, analysis and discovery of your data.
