Collection Policy Outline

General Purpose:

To serve undergraduate and graduate teaching and research in Art History to the Ph.D. level, and the Bachelor of Fine Arts programme.

Languages:

English is preferred, but other western languages, principally Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish,are collected.

Geographical Areas:

Emphasis is on Europe, Canada and the United States.

Chronological Limits:

None

  • Books: monographs; bibliographies; conference proceedings; catalogues, reference
  • Serial Publications: series; periodicals
  • Exhibition Catalogues
  • Art Auction Catalogues
  • Multimedia (DVDs, VHS tapes)
  • Indexing, Abstracting & Full Text Services
  • Other Resources: Original prints, photographs, slides, and multimedia are also collected in the Department.
    Note: any of the above may be in print, microform, or electronic format.
