Law

The Law Library is your point of entry to legal information. We provide legal research support and instruction to students, faculty, and other members of the Queen’s community. Our services include course-based instruction, tailored research guides, and individualized research consultations with our law librarians.

Our physical spaces and print collections are located at the William R. Lederman Law Library on the second and third floors of the Law Building. Our digital collections include key legal research platforms like Lexis and Westlaw, as well as a growing collection of ebooks, journal literature, and other legal resources.

New students in the Faculty of Law are encouraged to visit our online orientation for an introduction to the Law Library and this short video that introduces all of Queen's University Library's spaces, services, and resources.

Cambridge Law Reports: International Law Reports Archive

The International Law Reports Archive includes volumes 17 (1956) - 120 (2020). It contains decisions in English of international courts and arbitrators as well as judgments of national courts. Cases are drawn from national and international jurisdictions.

Publication coverage: Early 2000s - present

CanLII is an open access Canadian law information database that provides access to legal commentary, legislation, and court judgements from all Canadian courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, federal courts, and decisions from many tribunals nationally.

Index to Canadian Legal Literature

Publication coverage: 1985 - present

Index to Canadian Legal Literature (ICLL) is a bibliographic database providing thorough coverage of Canadian law journal literature. National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Law

This database from HeinOnline contains the full text of all Model Acts drafted, recommended, or endorsed by the National Conference of Commissions on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL). It also includes the NCCUSL Archive Publications, containing all available transcripts of the proceedings of each Annual Meeting, as well as the transcripts of the discussions of the Committee of the Whole of each Uniform and Model Act.
