The library is here to help with end of term and exam stress

Post Date:

If you’re feeling stuck on final assignments, we are here to help! Chat with us for help with finding sources, citations, or booking an appointment with a librarian.

We also offer stress relief activities and spaces

On the afternoon of December 5, there will be free coffee and cookies at Stauffer, while supplies last.

Gael’s Gifts will be running again this year on December 6 from 10:30 - 2:30. In partnership with Coca -Cola, Queen’s Hospitality Services staff will be across campus spreading random cheer during the one-day blitz by engaging students with random treats and acts of kindness

Don’t forget to check out the unique holiday tree in Engineering and Science Library, and while you are there you also enjoy the snowflake making station. There are also puzzles and Lego sets.

The Law Library has a display on mental health during the exam season which includes books on mental health in law school and while practicing. We have also set up two de-stress stations (one on the first floor of the library and one on the second). These include:

  • Board and card games
  • LEGOs
  • Colouring pages, featuring some from Indigenous artists and the First Nations Health and Wellness Colouring Book
  • Pens, pencils, and markers

Take a break from studying & end-of-term stress by visiting the Education Library for some fun activities. Our Ellison Centre has over 200 shapes that you can use to create cards, gift tags, and more! Our Teacher Prep area has all the supplies you need to get crafty. The Education Library will also have a jewelry-crafting station, with a variety of beads and cords to make a custom piece. A special thanks to the Arts Infusion Committee for providing the library with beading supplies.

If you need to (quietly) blow off a little steam, don’t forget to visit our designated movement space on the fourth floor of Stauffer Library. We also have a meditation room on the second floor for quiet reflection.
