Student Research Publications

We are pleased to support student led academic journals via Open Journals @ Queen’s. OJS@Queen’s uses Open Journal Systems (OJS), a professional journal publishing system. This service is provided by the library for Queen's researchers and scholars wishing to publish an online open-access journal.

OJS journals are also discoverable in Omni, the library’s search tool, are therefore discoverable to our partner libraries across Ontario.

Promotion and Display

If an OJS student journal is also published in print, a copy can be displayed in the Queen’s Authors display in Stauffer Library for up to four weeks. The journal editor or a delegate should deliver the journal to the Information Services desk in Stauffer Library, attention Humanities & Social Sciences Department. If the subject of the journal is outside the scope of Stauffer Library’s collections (business, humanities, and social sciences), two copies of the journal can be delivered to Stauffer Library, one for the Queen’s Authors display, and the other for the associated faculty library (for example, Education, Law, Engineering and Science, or Health Science).

Retention

Print copies are not retained past the display period. Student created digital or print magazines and journals may be considered for deposit in the Queen’s Printed Collection at Queen’s Archives. Please contact the Archives to find out more.
