LLT contains more than 5,442 works and 5,084 diplomatic charters, with 4,275 works attributed to 1,316  authors. It includes genres as varied as chronicles; medieval saints’ lives; travel narratives; legal texts; theological, philosophical and scientific treatises; and translations of Greek works. Background information is also provided for the texts.

The multilingual database can be used in order to read texts as a whole, to search for words and expressions, to access individual texts by means of their references, to examine the distribution of word-forms across the entire database, or to analyse vocabulary within an individual work by displaying an exhaustive concordance for each form that is part of that work. The Cross Database Searchtool searches Library of Latin Texts, Monumenta Germaniae Historica, Aristoteles Latinus Database, and Archive of Celtic-Latin Literature Online at the same time.
