Services

Walk-in Information Assistance

Staff can help you acquire geospatial data for your GIS, get started in using the data in GIS software, find maps and photographs, use the scanners, and much more. Please ask!

GIS Data and Support

The Library provides access to numerous data sources through consortial and academic licensing agreements. Shared data are being made available through the new OCUL GeoPortal. Other GIS data, such as that from the cities of Kingston, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, and Toronto, are individually licensed to Queen's.

On-site GIS support is available, but limited. A consultation appointment is recommended when more extensive research assistance is desired than is available on a walk-in basis. For further support, we recommend registering in a Queen's GIS course, exploring online GIS training opportunities, or taking one of the ESRI Virtual Campus courses.

Users with an active NetID can access Esri’s ArcGIS on Library computers.
