Printing at the Library


Introduction

You can print, scan, and copy at most of our locations using our PrintQ system from your own device or by using our Computers. Current Queen’s Students, staff and Faculty can access the service with your NetID and password.

PrintQ has three main components:

  1. Tri-Colour Cash – Through the Housing Blackboard portal for financial transactions
  2. Papercut – Your account management, pulling funds from Blackboard and tracking job status
  3. Ricoh Multifunction Devices – Releasing print jobs, scanning and photocopying

Steps

  1. Log in to your Blackboard Account: https://studentweb.housing.queensu.ca/
  2. Select Tri-Colour $
  3. Input the amount required
  4. Select your method of payment

  1. Log into your PaperCut account at https://library.printq.queensu.ca/ with your Net ID and password
  2. PrintQ will open on the Summary of your user account
  3. Select Add Credit from the menu
  4. Choose the amount to add from your available Blackboard Balance

  1. Sign into Papercut.
  2. Within Papercut, click on the tab labeled Mobile Print 1

  3. You will be directed to the download screen for your device.

  4. Follow the outlined instructions as they are device specific.

*Please note, Papercut is not available for Chromebooks

  1. Select the LibraryPrintQ printer from the Printer list if it is not already set to default
  2. Select Print
  3. Check your Print Properties ensure the paper size is either Letter (8 ½ x 11) or Legal (8 ½ x 14) and your colour options are correct

  1. Login to any Library RICOH device to release print job.
  2. Tap the screen to wake device from sleep mode.
  3. Enter your Queen’s NetID and password
  4. Once authenticated, the PaperCut main menu will appear on screen.
  5. Optional: Users can adjust the print settings directly from the RICOH device by tapping the arrow next to the job you wish to adjust. Make the desired changes and press Print. 
  6. Tap Print release.
  7. Select the checkbox next to the document(s) to print then tap Print.

When your print jobs are complete, tap the Log out button in the top right-hand corner of the PaperCut main menu to log out. The device will automatically log out a user after 60 seconds of inactivity.
