About the Digital Initiatives and Open Scholarship Department
Digital Initiatives and Open Scholarship (DIOS) provides services, systems, and tools connecting library users with rich and varied information resources and services.
Our team provides specialized support with Copyright, Data and Statistics, Research Data Management, and Scholarly Publishing.
We provide user-centered technology services and infrastructure including:
- Library website and other web applications
- Digital collections and Archives systems
- Public technology including computers and printing/scanning
- Library discovery system (Omni), shared with 19 of the 21 academic libraries in Ontario
- Open access repository of scholarship and research produced at Queen’s (QSpace)
- Curation and review of research datasets deposited into Queen’s Dataverse Collection (Borealis)
- Scholarly publishing platforms including Open Journal Systems (OJS) and Open Monograph Press (OMP)
- Partnership in technology initiatives within and external to Queen’s
