About this location
Welcome to Douglas Library. The library provides the information services and resources you need for your learning and research, and space for contemplation and collaboration. Douglas Library opened in 1924 and served as the main campus library until 1994. It was renovated in 1994-96 and reopened in 1997. This library houses the Engineering and Science Library and W. D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections.

Accessibility
Queen's University Library is committed to an inclusive library community that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.
The University Avenue entrance into Douglas Library is wheelchair accessible. This entrance is equipped with a ramp and automatic door openers.
There are metered accessible parking spaces available on Albert Street at Union Street and at Union Street near Division Street.
The Information Services Desk located on the ground floor is accessible. The W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections public service desk on the second floor (level 6) is accessible.
There is one accessible study room with adaptive technology in Douglas Library. This room has a height-adjustable desk, a tabletop EPSON scanner, and a computer equipped with specialized software such as ZoomText, Kurzweil 3000, Inspiration, and JAWS.
There are several height-adjustable workstations on each floor. PC 11 is a height-adjustable workstation with accessible software such as Inspiration, JAWS, Kurzweil 3000.
There are two accessible elevators. Elevators provide access to all floors in the library. Controls inside the elevators are Brailed.
Accessible washrooms are located on levels 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Book a Room
When its time to study or collaborate as a group we have the space you need. Queen’s students, staff and faculty can reserve group study rooms.
There are group study rooms available to book in Douglas Library. These rooms have a 6- to 14-person capacity.
Designated, bookable computer workstations are available to members of the Queen's community with an active NetID.
There is one classroom available to book in Douglas Library.
