1923 reading room

Located on the top floor of Douglas Library, the 1923 reading room is one of Queen's University's most iconic spaces. Beautifully preserved solid wood carrels and chairs beneath vaulted ceilings, paired with stained glass windows, and the warm glow of brass study lamps are sure to make you feel like you've stepped back in time. Enjoy elegant ambiance outfitted with modern amenities whenever you come to study in the 1923 Reading Room.

The 1923 Reading Room is now open. Please read and understand the following information prior to use:

The 1923 Reading Room is a heritage space with limited air exchange/purification capacity.
