Introduction

Located in Stauffer Library and working closely with Queen's University Legal Counsel, the Copyright Advisory Office is dedicated to educating, supporting, and engaging Queen's faculty, students, researchers, and staff in matters pertaining to copyright, access to knowledge and content, learning, teaching, conducting and disseminating research, and administrative operations. 

This page details the guides, services, and resources that are available to assist Queen's faculty with their copyright-related needs. 

Services for Faculty

This service enables faculty and students to have one single access point for all course materials and to support copyright compliance. 

This service seeks, obtains, and arranges for the use of copyright-protected content that is beyond the scope of fair dealing, requires authorization from a copyright owner, and requires the payment of licensing fees. 

This service sends takedown notices to course content sharing sites on behalf of faculty who have found their work and course materials available online through such sites. 

This service is available in person or online to faculty who would like assistance with course sites, course materials, research projects, license agreements, and other copyright-related needs. 

This service is available to faculty who would like to integrate copyright-related presentations and lectures into their in person or online courses. 

Workshops for faculty, students, researchers, and staff on a variety of copyright-related topics are offered throughout the academic year.
